The LA Chargers head to Lambeau Field for the first time in nearly a decade with a pivotal Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers. With a win, the Chargers would be 5-5 and would be right back in the hunt for an AFC playoff spot. A loss might cause too big of a hole to dig out of.
It did not take long for the Chargers to suffer a huge loss in the game itself. On the very first drive of the game, Pro Bowl edge rusher Joey Bosa suffered what has been called a foot injury and painfully hopped his way off the field and collapsed on the Chargers' sideline.
The injury appears to be severe, as Bosa was very noticeably emotional. Bosa was carted into the locker room in what was a heartbreaking scene as you could see the emotion gushing out of him while on the court.
Joey Bosa carted away from Chargers-Packers with foot injury
A foot injury was the initial designation from the Chargers but it is unclear if that designation is accurate. It is worth noting that Bosa was dealing with a broken toe earlier in the season. However, that was on his left foot, and it appeared that Bosa injured his right foot/leg.
Regardless of what the injury is, there has to be a legitimate concern that this is a severe injury for Bosa. Oftentimes, a player's reaction can tell the entire story of what kind of injury it is. Based on Bosa's emotional reaction, it seems like he knows that it is a serious injury. The biggest concern, right now, would be some kind of Achilles injury.
The Chargers have been battling injuries all season and losing Bosa would be yet another hit to this top-heavy roster. If the Chargers are going to make the playoffs they are going to have to win the war of attrition, with or without Bosa.
We will update this article periodically with any updates on the severity/type of injury for Bosa.
