How to watch Chargers vs. Panthers in Week 2 with and without cable
By Jason Reed
The LA Chargers started the Jim Harbaugh era exactly how fans expected: with a win over the rivaled Las Vegas Raiders. It was not always pretty but the Chargers got better as the game went along (as does every well-coached team) to move to 1-0 on the season.
The Carolina Panthers did not enjoy the same success against a division rival in Week 1. Bryce Young and the Panthers went into New Orleans and were absolutely spanked by Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints, losing 47-10.
A Chargers-Panthers matchup definitely does not have much appeal to the general NFL fan, especially compared to the other games on the slate. But for those who are wondering how to catch the action, we have you covered.
How to watch Chargers vs Panthers on TV:
Even though the Panthers are hosting and NFC teams typically play on FOX, this game will be broadcast on CBS. Fans in local markets in Los Angeles and Raleigh will certainly get this game as the early CBS game.
However, this game is not going to get as much coverage as the Raiders-Chargers game received in Week 1. The coverage map for Chargers-Panthers is much smaller, and can be seen below (via 506 Sports):
- Red: New York Jets at Tennessee Titans
- Blue: San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings
- Green: Las Vegas Raiders at Baltimore Ravens
- Yellow: LA Chargers at Carolina Panthers
- Orange: Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars
Fans who do not fall into the coverage map are going to have to watch the game using NFL Sunday Ticket. NFL Sunday Ticket is no longer on cable since moving to YouTube TV but still offers the same services as it did before. Sunday Ticket starts at $479 for the entire season (without YouTube TV) and has a seven-day free trial.
How to watch Chargers vs Panthers without cable
In-market fans who reside in the small sliver of coverage for the Chargers-Panthers game do not need cable to watch the game. In fact, in-market fans can utilize Paramount+ to watch the Chargers-Panthers game live with a standard paid subscription.
Out-of-market fans will not be able to utilize Paramount+ as the service only streams the local CBS games. Again, the best solution for out-of-market fans to stream the action would be YouTube TV.
In-market fans who do not have traditional cable nor Paramount+ can also use several different streaming services. Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV and Sling TV will all carry your local CBS broadcast. Again, if you are outside the coverage window, this is not a viable option.
Fubo specifically has a seven-day free trial for new users.
