With the 86th overall pick in this Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select Leo Chenal, LB, Wisconsin

There are a few different directions the LA Chargers could go with the fourth pick in the draft, which in this case comes in the third round. The three biggest needs have been drafted in this Chargers mock draft and linebacker might not be the most likely selection for the fourth pick. I would not be surprised if this was an interior offensive lineman or an edge rusher.

However, based on who was on the board in this simulation with the 86th overall pick, we decided to go with linebacker in Leo Chenal. Linebacker might not be the top thing on fans' minds with Kyzir White having a breakout year but it was also a big reason for the team struggling against the run in 2021.

Kyzir White was great but there is a chance that he does not re-sign this offseason. Kenneth Murray has been horrible and the team just has to cross its fingers and hope that he figures it out and Drue Tranquill is fine but is a tad overrated as a fan-favorite.

The Chargers would benefit from getting someone in the draft that can not only log some snaps in the linebacker rotation as a rookie but can give the team some depth for the future as well. Leo Chenal would provide that with the 86th overall pick.

Chenal actually fits what the team is looking for in a linebacker rotation. Chenal is perfectly suited to a situational linebacker that comes in against the run and can plug the holes between the tackles. He is a sure, but heavy, tackler that plays the kind of physical football that the Chargers honestly lacked in 2021.
