J.C. Jackson

J.C. Jackson started the season on the LA Chargers but did not last very long. After disappointing play and a lack of accountability, Staley and Telesco had to cut ties with the high-paid cornerback and traded him to the New England Patriots for a late-round pick swap.

Jackson went to New England and actually put together some solid play early in his return. It looked like it was going to be a classic case of Bill Belichick getting the most out of someone while another team failed miserably to do the same.

Then the wheels started to fall off. In addition to Jackson's play starting to slip, the off-field antics seemed to continue. Jackson was inactive in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts and eventually hit the NFI list to end his season early.

It was a bad year for Jackson both in Los Angeles and New England which resulted in the Patriots releasing him before the start of free agency. Two different teams have given up on Jackson in a sixth-month window.

This is a massive fall from grace for someone who just signed a massive contract with the Chargers in the 2022 offseason. It is unclear if Jackson will even be in the league at all in 2024.
