J.C. Jackson

J.C. Jackson started the 2023 season with the Chargers and there were high hopes that he could be an impactful player for the team. Jackson struggled immensely in his first season with the Bolts but there were strings attached. His debut was delayed for an elective procedure right before the season and once he finally started to come around he suffered a torn patellar injury.

Jackson made a remarkable recovery to be ready for the start of the 2023 season. His poor play for the Chargers was just as unexpected as his quick recovery, as Chargers fans quickly realized that Jackson's return was not going to have a fairy tale ending.

Jackson single-handedly lost the Chargers the game in Week 1 with a pointless penalty that gave Miami three free points. Several weeks later after issues both on and off the field, the Chargers wiped their hands clean of Jackson and traded him back to the New England Patriots.

Things seemingly started off well for Jackson back in New England but that honeymoon phase ended quickly. Jackson did not play on the starting drive against the Washington Commanders and was told to stay home when the Patriots made the trip to Germany to play the Indianapolis Colts.

The Patriots waived fellow polarizing cornerback Jack Jones after the Germany game and it might just be a matter of time before they too give up on Jackson like the Chargers did this season.
