After six long months that included NFL free agency, the 2023 NFL Draft and some coaching staff changes, fans are ready to finally welcome back their favorite team with the start of LA Chargers training camp.
It might not be real NFL football quite yet but the start of training camp is the start of the NFL calendar that will last the next six months. It is a beautiful time of year and before we know it, the Chargers will be in the thick of a playoff chase in the middle of the 2023 season.
It is an exciting time to be a Chargers fan. Here is everything you need to know about 2023 Chargers training camp.
2023 Chargers training camp dates:
The following are all the dates that Chargers training camp will be open to the public:
- Wednesday, July 26, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Thursday, July 27, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Saturday, July 29, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Monday, July 31, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Friday, Aug. 4, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 5, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 6, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 9, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 10, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Monday, Aug. 14, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 17, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Friday, Aug. 18, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m
August 17 and August 18 are fully-exclusive to season-ticket holders as they are joint practices with the New Orleans Saints ahead of the preseason game between the two teams.
Chargers training camp location:
Chargers training camp will take place at the Jack R. Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa. This is the last year that the Chargers will be hosting training camp in Costa Mesa as the team's groundbreaking new practice facility in El Segundo is scheduled to open next year.
Chargers positional battles:
With 90 players on the roster there are going to be a myriad of positional battles not just for a place on the depth chart but to make the roster altogether. As it stands right now, there are several positional battles that should interest fans the most.
- Joshua Palmer vs Quentin Johnston for WR3
- Dustin Hopkins vs Cameron Dicker for K
- Kenneth Murray vs Daiyan Henley for LB2
- Alohi Gilman vs JT Woods for FS
- Joshua Kelley vs Isaiah Spiller for RB2
How to attend Chargers training camp 2023:
Outside of the two season-ticket exclusive practices with the Saints, Chargers fans are able to go to any of the dates listed above. You can find the link to obtain tickets from the Chargers here and best of all, tickets are completely free!
There is a limit of eight tickets per order and the seats tend to fill up the closer we get to the actual start of training camp.
