Stud of Chargers training camp: Quentin Johnston

The biggest stud of Chargers training camp thus far from a pure on-the-field perspective is first-round pick Quentin Johnston. This is the new face that fans have been so excited to see in person and the reviews thus far have been rave from the fanbase.

We all knew that Johnston was quick and could burst to a full sprint with the best of him but seeing it happen in person has been a different experience. Johnston is probably going to be utilized as a YAC receiver in his rookie season and that is just fine as he has all the makings of being electric in this role.

That being said, Johnston still adds value as a deep-ball threat for one of the best deep-ball throwers in the sport. Johnson may have some drop and contested catch concerns but those concerns go away if he is able to burn his man off the line of scrimmage and get open downfield.

Johnston's rookie numbers still probably won't be exceptional because he is still playing behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Plus, Joshua Palmer came out as the team's WR3, as noted in the embedded tweet from the previous page. But when he is utilized, Johnston is going to turn in highlight-reel plays for the Chargers.
