Chargers training camp has been in full swing for three weeks now as the team prepares for the first preseason game of the year this Sunday against the LA Rams. While the starters most likely won't play, fans can still learn a lot about the roster throughout the preseason.

The hope for some players is that they can utilize actual game action in the preseason to increase their stock before the regular season begins. While training camp has been good for several players, there are other players who have all but disappeared thus far in camp.

3 Chargers players who have disappeared at Chargers training camp:

Derius Davis

The rookie wide receiver that was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft was expected to have a somewhat prominent role on the Chargers. His game-breaking speed made him a candidate to get some snaps in the offense but the more exciting part of his game was his punt and kickoff return ability.

Many expected Davis to have a bigger overall impact on the team than any other rookie not named Quentin Johnston because of it. However, thus far in camp, there has not been much to really look forward to as far as Davis is concerned.

Meanwhile, John Hightower is putting together a masterful training camp and is easily the biggest winner thus far. Hightower is also a speed option and has taken reps at returner. This is not good for Davis' stock and he may end up not having much of a role at all his rookie year if the Chargers go in this direction.

The preseason could end up being a godsend for Davis as that will give him a true opportunity to show off his athleticism against another NFL team.
