Chargers superstars continue hyping up Jim Harbaugh (as if he needs it)

There is a reason why the entire LA Chargers fanbase celebrated hiring Jim Harbaugh as if the team won the Super Bowl: because wherever Harbaugh goes, success follows.

Harbaugh is one of the most accomplished coaches in the league despite not coaching in the NFL for a decade before joining the Chargers. He has turned around college programs, has coached his way to a Super Bowl with subpar quarterback play, and has a National Championship on his resume.

As expected, there has been nothing but good things said about Harbaugh now that he has his fingerprints all over the team. Veteran Khalil Mack lauded Harbaugh while Joey Bosa seems like a completely new person. The Harbaugh effect is real.

Rashawn Slater is the latest Chargers superstar to join in on the fun. In a recent appearance on the "Up & Adams" show, Slater heaped praise on the culture Harbaugh is creating and how the Chargers as a whole have bought in.

Every day that passes since Harbaugh was made the head coach of the Chargers the more it has seemed like a home-run hire. Somehow, someway, Harbaugh is living up to the exponential hype attached to his name before even coaching a game for the Chargers.

While pretty much every single Chargers fan was on board with the hire, there have still been a vocal minority (mostly fans of division rivals) who have doubted the hire. To be fair, the NFL is much different in 2024 than when he was the coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

But style does not matter with elite head coaches and Harbaugh is already becoming proof of that so early in his Chargers tenure. In just a few short months, Harbaugh has changed the entire culture and perception of the team. This is something that so many head coaches before him failed to do.

There is always talk about how a new head coach shifts the culture of the team. It happened three years ago when the team first hired Brandon Staley. But in those cases, it was merely lip service as the team (and its fans) were hopeful for change.

This feels much different with Harbaugh. This isn't a case where players are just saying what the new coach and the fanbase wants to hear. These are the biggest stars on the team going out of their way to insinuate how different the team is now with Harbaugh running the show.

And that is a beautiful thing. If the Chargers end up being much different than they have been in years past then fans should be over the moon about the success that is coming.
