Predicting the betting line of every LA Chargers game in 2022
By Jason Reed
Week 6: Broncos at Chargers (-2.5)
Like with the Kansas City Chiefs, I think Vegas will view the Broncos and Chargers on a similar playing field heading into this Week 6 matchup, regardless of how hot the Bolts may start. On a neutral field, this is a pick 'em but with the Chargers being the home team, they get the nod as favorites.
However, Denver does typically have a good crowd against the Chargers and Vegas should factor that in, making the Chargers 2.5-point favorites instead of three-point favorites.
Week 7 Seahawks at Chargers (-10)
I have the Seahawks with a 2-4 record heading into this game where they will certainly be double-digit underdogs on the road. Regardless of who their quarterback is they probably won't be very good, although they have more talent than the likes of Jacksonville as well as a coach in Pete Carroll who gets some gambling respect.
Week 9: Chargers (-11.5) at Falcons
I think the Falcons are going to be one of the worst teams in the league next season and with the Chargers coming off of a bye, I don't think it is crazy to say that they will be favored more against Atlanta on the road than they were at home against the Seahawks. The Chargers very well could have one or fewer losses at this point while Atlanta will clearly be playing for the first-overall pick already.
Week 10: Chargers (-2.5) at 49ers
The 49ers are such a hard team to gauge but with the NFC being so weak they should be in a playoff spot once this game rolls around. I actually have the Chargers losing this game in surprising fashion in my game-by-game predictions as the 49ers are a smart team that is absolutely capable of beating LA. Vegas knows this and will make the line low enough for many people to splash heavy on the Chargers.
