3 most important games remaining on the LA Chargers schedule
By Jason Reed
Week 18 at Denver Broncos
There are a few other AFC games that you could put here instead of the Broncos game. The Chargers have to play both the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans and both of those teams are currently in the playoff hunt.
That being said, the Colts are not a talented football team and their record is very deceiving. They are not going to be in the hunt by the time the Chargers play them. The Titans are a playoff team but are a lock to win the AFC South, so there is really no impact either way for the Chargers.
Of course, the Chargers want to win those games as they need to stack as many wins as possible to make the playoffs. But I would not say that those specific games hold any more weight to them than the other games against the likes of the Raiders and Rams.
However, the Week 18 game is definitely going to have some weight to it. Unless things go really poorly, the Chargers will at least be in the playoff hunt by the time Week 18 rolls around. In a perfect world, the Chargers would be controlling their own destiny and would just need a win in Week 18 to get in.
The Broncos will not be in the playoff hunt but they will be trying to play spoiler against their AFC West foes. At best the Broncos will be 7-9 at this point but they will still get immense satisfaction from beating the Chargers and keeping them out of the playoffs.
MUST-READ: Promising rookies the Chargers could have drafted in 2022
The Broncos cannot be overlooked because of their elite defense, especially considering this game is in Denver in January. There is a good chance that the entire season will come down to this game and the Chargers are going to have to show up and show out.
