It is a running joke that nobody really cares about the Pro Bowl but it is still a nice honor for our favorite players to get after a hard-fought season. Fans are still lining up to vote for their favorite Chargers on Twitter, so you cannot say that it doesn't mean anything.

It is always nice to see your team represented in the Pro Bowl to showcase the talent that is on the roster. The Chargers have been a team in the past that always had a lot of Pro Bowlers but does not have the overall team success to back it up.

This year the list of Chargers Pro Bowlers might be shorter as the team has dealt with serious injuries and has not seen as many players have great years. That being said, there are still three players who are bonafide locks to make it, as well as some popular names who may surprisingly not get the nod.

Here are 3 Chargers who are locks (and 2 who aren't) to make the Pro Bowl:

Lock: Austin Ekeler

Austin Ekeler has still never made a Pro Bowl in his life so you know this means a little bit extra to him. It is absurd that Ekeler has not made the Pro Bowl as he has been arguably the best and most consistent two-way running back in the league over the last four seasons.

Ironically, this is going to be his worst season rushing the ball but he still should be a lock to get his first Pro Bowl nod. Ekeler is still a touchdown merchant that has found the endzone more than any other player on the Chargers. In fact, Ekeler has the most total touchdowns over the last two years and it is not even close.

NFL fans love fantasy football and they are seeing first-hand the kind of impact that Ekeler is having. That should be enough to get him a nod, even if the Chargers' overall rushing attack is not great this season.
