2. EDGE

Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack's max restructures make it more than likely one of them won't be on the Chargers in 2024. Mack would be heading into his age 34 season at the time.

Aside from their future contract situations, the Chargers just need a legitimate EDGE 3 player that can start if necessary. Bosa has missed 16 games in the last 3 seasons. Mack was able to play all 17 games in 2022, but most recently missed 10 games in 2021.

Kyle Van Noy could be re-signed, but his future is uncertain on the market. Chris Rumph has not shown enough to be able to consistently start from game to game if needed outside of a few flashes in the preseason.

Assuming the roster stays the same in the EDGE room, my personal belief is that the Chargers probably use one of their top 100 picks on a pass rusher. At this stage and for the future, it's much needed. The Chargers need more pass-rushing juice in general after ranking toward the middle of the league in sacks with 40 for the season. That stat is somewhat inflated by playing Nick Foles' Colts.
