Chargers playoff schedule 2023 (opponents, dates, times for LA's postseason run)
By Jason Reed
The LA Chargers have made the playoffs for the first time since the 2018 season and it was not a smooth path. The path started before the 2022 season, when Chargers fans had to endure heartbreak first.
An ugly 2020 season still planted the seeds for an exciting future for the Chargers. The Philip Rivers era was over and in came Justin Herbert, who instantly looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the sport upon being thrust into the starting role.
With a new head coach in Brandon Staley, the sky was the limit for the Bolts in 2021. They knocked on the door of the playoffs but were unable to get a win (or tie) in Week 18 against the rivaled Las Vegas Raiders. Chargers fans had to watch Raiders fans celebrate on the same night their season ended.
Fast forward 12 months and the Chargers are the second AFC West team that made the playoffs. Here is everything you need to know.
What seed are the Chargers in the playoffs?
The Chargers are the fifth seed in the AFC. With a 10-6 record, the Chargers are the best of three wild-card teams thanks to a tiebreaker owned over the Baltimore Ravens.
This is the second playoff berth in a row in which the Chargers entered as the best wild card team as the team went 12-4 in 2018. They defeated the fourth-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card Round.
Who made the playoffs in the AFC?
The Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars all won their divisions and are seeded in that order. The Ravens and Miami Dolphins join the Chargers are the other two wild-card teams.
