The LA Chargers have just one more game before the painful 2024 season is officially over. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong for the Chargers in 2024 and fans are excited to turn the page to a new chapter of the organization.

While fans might be rooting for a loss for better draft position at this point, there are still players on the Chargers roster who are playing for something in Week 18. For some, Week 18 provides one last opportunity to prove their worth to the organization and cement their job for the rest of the 2024 calendar year.

Let's dive into those Chargers players who are looking to end the season on a high to leave a lasting impression on the organization.

Brenden Jaimes is playing for his Chargers job

Brenden Jaimes has one more year under contract but as a Tom Telesco draft pick his future is not guaranteed. There were rumblings of Jaimes getting cut after training camp this season but he was ultimately kept around and now has a chance to earn his place next season.

Jaimes didn't get any consistent playing time until Will Clapp went down with an injury in Week 15. With Clapp hitting the IR, Jaimes has been tasked with being the team's starting center for the last three weeks of the season.

And to the surprise of many, Jaimes has actually played quite well thus far. He is by no means a great starting option but he has proven that there might be value there in keeping him around as a backup center.

If Jaimes can finish the season with a solid game against the Kansas City Chiefs then the new regime in LA might simply keep him around to back up Corey Linsley or a rookie center that is drafted (if Linsley does not play). If Sunday is a disaster then we could see Jaimes be a favorite to get cut over the offseason.
