The LA Chargers head into Week 13 against the New England Patriots needing a win or the season is all but over. Los Angeles has to essentially win out if it wants any chance of making the playoffs and that starts with a road game against the Pats this Sunday.

On paper, this should be a game that the Chargers have no problems with. The Patriots are the worst team in the AFC with the worst quarterback situation in the entire sport. As bad as it has been for the Chargers, they have at least been able to beat up on bad quarterbacks.

The problem is that the Chargers might be even more injured than they already were. Let's dive into the latest Chargers news.

Chargers news: Keenan Allen DNP on Wednesday and Thursday

After dealing with a shoulder injury for several weeks, Keenan Allen sat out of Chargers practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a new injury designation: a quadricep injury. There was no clarity from the team after practice and it is unclear what Allen's status will be for Week 13.

Lower body injuries and receivers over 30 don't typically mesh well together and Chargers fans saw that last season. A lingering hamstring injury resulted in Allen missing half of the season and there are now concerns that this injury could linger in the same regard.

If Allen is not suiting up for the Chargers in Week 13 then Justin Herbert is going to have his hands full against what is still a very good defense. The receiver room will consist of Quentin Johnston, Jalen Guyton, Derius Davis and an array of practice squad receivers. Not necessarily a murderer's row of weapons.
