The 2024 NFL Combine is officially in the books and Chargers fans are now looking forward to what should be a busy offseason. The combine always serves as the unofficial start of the offseason and there will be a litany of moves on the horizon as the Chargers look to build out a contending roster for next season.

What the Chargers do in the 2024 NFL Draft will depend on these moves that the team makes prior to the draft actually happening. With a lot more intel about the draft prospects thanks to the combine, it becomes a bit easier to carve out a potential big board for the Bolts, as well as conduct mock drafts.

Using Pro Football Focus' mock draft simulator, let's dive into our latest Chargers mock draft, which includes a shocking (but now possible) selection at five.

Chargers draft WR Marvin Harrison Jr. with fifth pick

It still is not the most likely scenario, but there is now a world in which Marvin Harrison Jr. will fall to the Chargers with the fifth pick. Reports from the combine indicate that the Arizona Cardinals may trade back from the fourth pick and that the first four picks in this draft could all be quarterbacks.

If that happens then the Chargers are going to benefit as they will get the best wide receiver prospect to come into the league in recent memory. Harrison is a cornerstone franchise player and barring injury, will be an All-Pro before his rookie deal is up. That is how big of a surefire prospect he is.

Trading down and picking up more draft capital is certainly an intriguing idea that Bolts fans have pondered this offseason. That completely goes out the window if Harrison is available, as the Chargers can select the best non-quarterback by a country mile.
