The LA Chargers were beaten up pretty badly in the team's Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The loss itself was bad enough and it was made worse by the fact the Chargers lost four first-round picks to injuries all in one game.

Instead of worrying about the one loss, the focus for fans turned to the future. Los Angeles is good enough to make a run in the NFL playoffs but won't be able to with a laundry list of injuries. The Chargers can make the playoffs with a loss to the Steelers, they cannot make the playoffs with a depleted roster.

Unfortunately, the first test for the Chargers after suffering these injuries is the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City is hard enough to beat at full strength and with an all-star inactives list, it is made even tougher.

There are three players who were ruled out on Friday's Chargers injury report. Both the offensive and defensive line will be weaker with Bosa and Slater both out of action. Rookie linebacker Junior Colson will miss his second game.

After being listed as questionable, Joe Alt predictably is inactive against the Chiefs. While it would have been nice to have Alt in there to protect Justin Herbert, the fact of the matter is the Chargers have to look at the big picture.

The Chargers' secondary is in a rough spot against Patrick Mahomes. Not only are the Chargers without Ja'Sir Taylor and Deane Leonard, but the team also has to play without Derwin James. James was suspended one game by the NFL for a hit on Pat Freiermuth in Week 3.

Chiefs inactives list vs. Chargers:

Kansas City's inactives for Week 4 are not nearly as impactful as the Chargers. There are no Pro Bowl-caliber players on this inactives list as the team is essentially 100% heading into Sunday's matchup.

There is one notable player on the inactives list for Chargers fans, though. Mike Danna is the player who hit Herbert in 2022 resulting in his fractured rib cartilage. Danna is by no means a dirty player, but with Herbert nursing an ankle injury maybe it is for the best (for the Chargers) that Danna isn't playing.
