The LA Chargers host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3 in a matchup that is very compelling. On paper, the Chargers should easily be able to handle the Jaguars at home but the Bolts are dealing with a myriad of injuries, including Justin Herbert's rib injury. Without Herbert, the Chargers likely lose this game.

The Bolts are going to need several players to step up if they are going to win this game. There is still star power on this roster that is going to help lead the team, but the true difference will be in the non-star players. If several of these players can step up, the Chargers will be in good shape.

Some of these players not only need to step up to help the team win, but to help their own cause as well.

Here are 3 Chargers on the hot seat ahead of Week 3:

1. Jerry Tillery

Jerry Tillery has not been good thus far in his NFL career and it appears that the team is finally realizing that and not playing him a big number of snaps. Tom Telesco and Brandon Staley reinvented the defensive line this past offseason which has lessened Tillery's role, improving the defensive line as a result.

That being said, Tillery is still part of the defensive line rotation and he has been more of the same thus far. Tillery has been poor against the run when other teams have run at him and he has not added any dynamic to the pass-rush as well.

There is so much talent on the defensive line and there are guys not even on the roster like Breiden Fehoko who could add more of a positive presence to the D-line than Tillery. He is only going to get so many chances, as eventually he will be phased out of the rotation altogether.
