It appeared that the LA Chargers were done making coaching changes after hiring Kellen Moore and filling out the offensive staff but that was not the case. It was shockingly reported on Monday that defensive coordinator Renaldo Hill would be leaving the Bolts with Derrick Ansley getting promoted to take his place.

Hill is rejoining Vic Fangio in Miami as the team's pass game coordinator. This is a demotion for Hill as it was likely a mutual decision with Staley helping save face for his friend as well as his former mentor in Fangio.

With several key defensive free agents that the Chargers may not be able to afford to re-sign, we could see Hill put on his best recruiting hat to bring some players with him to South Beach.

3 Chargers who could follow Renaldo Hill to the Miami Dolphins:

3. Morgan Fox

Morgan Fox was an excellent signing by the LA Chargers after the 2022 NFL Draft. Initially signed as a depth piece, Fox had to step up into a bigger role in 2022 and thrived as a result. He was the team's best internal pass rusher last season.

Since he had such a solid season he is not going to be available for the minimum like he was last offseason. Thus, while his deal won't be large, the Chargers may not be able to afford to re-sign him this offseason.

There is never a thing as having too much pass-rushers and the Dolphins have enough cap space to give Fox a deal in the $4-5 million range no problem. With such a strong second half of the season and Hill's possible input, we could see the Dolphins prioritize Fox as a dark-horse signing that is a third defensive end behind Christian Wilkins and Emmanuel Ogbah.
