The LA Chargers have wiped the memory of the team's Thursday Night Football loss to the Chiefs from their memory and move ahead to host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. On paper, the Chargers are the much more talented team but the Jaguars have improved and we don't know what version of Justin Herbert we will get.
The latest Herbert injury update is very promising but there is a big difference between practice and the game. While all signs seem to be pointing to Herbert playing, he still may not fully be himself in this game.
We are going to need to see a more cohesive team effort if the Chargers are going to do what they are supposed to do and that requites certain players to step up. These players played poorly against the Chiefs in Week 2 and it is now very important for them to bounce back in Week 3.
3 Chargers who played poorly vs the Chiefs that need to turn it around vs the Jaguars:
1. Matt Feiler
Matt Feiler did not have a good game against Chris Jones in Week 2 and it has caused some Chargers fans to overreact about his status in the league. No, the Chargers should not bench Feiler in favor of rookie Jamaree Salyer but they do need better play out of the veteran.
Feiler has been somewhat hit and miss in his career before but he had a good enough season with the Chargers in 2021 that we can trust him to recover. It will also help that Feiler won't have to deal with the sudden change of Corey Linsley being next to him only for Will Clapp to take over in the second half. Whether it is Clapp or Linsley in Week 3, Feiler will be prepared.
The Jaguars have a pretty talented defensive front that will expose weakness in the offensive line. With Herbert being banged up and the running game needing to take more of the burden, Feiler needs to turn it around.
