The LA Chargers started the 2022 season in a perfect way on Sunday, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders at home to get revenge for Week 18 last season. This rivalry matchup has been talked about for months and finally, the Chargers can move on and prepare for the Chiefs.

The Bolts got several big performances out of key players in this game but they also a concerning lack of performance from other players. Everyone has to be involved and has to play a role if the Chargers are going to beat the Chiefs. If several key players disappear from the action then the Chargers are going to have a very tough time.

Hopefully, these players that did disappear in Week 1 were simply giving us fans the calm before the storm.

3 Chargers who disappeared in the Week 1 win over the Raiders:

1. Mike Williams

Mike Williams was the biggest missing person in this game as the $20 million receiver did not do much of anything. After Keenan Allen pulled up in the second quarter with a hamstring injury one would have thought that Williams would take that opportunity to ignite the offense.

Instead, that was not the case. Williams finished with only two catches for 10 yards and was only targeted in this game four times. The lack of targets might be concerning for Chargers fans, especially considering Allen will most likely miss this Thursday against KC.

Maybe a potential explanation is that Nate Hobbs was manning up Williams for most of the game and that is why he struggled to make anything happen. There also is the fact that the team simply did not throw the ball as much later in the second half.

Regardless, Williams had a big game in Kansas City last year and with there potentially being no Allen, he needs to have another this year.
