3. Nick Williams

The Chargers signed Nick Williams to a one-year minimum deal after the 2023 NFL Draft in a move that got swept under the rug. Williams, a long-time NFL veteran, was not expected to mostly be a depth option for the Bolts in 2023. However, because of injuries to the defensive line, Williams has had to play more snaps early on in the season.

It has not been all that great for the veteran interior defensive lineman. Williams did recover the botched snap fumble in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins but outside of that he has not really offered much to the Chargers.

Williams has played a total of 65 snaps that are almost perfectly split between running plays and passing plays. He has not generated a single pressure in 31 pass-rush situations and has only recorded one run stop in 34 rushing downs.

If Williams has another sleeper of a game then the team could look to turn to the younger options for the time being until Otito Ogbonnia gets healthy. Scott Matlock also has not been anything special but if he has a big game in Week 3 then the Bolts could turn in that direction.

Plus, there is also the possibility of increasing Tuli Tuipulotu's snaps on the inside. Tuipulotu has arguably been the best player on the Chargers' defense this season and the team played around with having him next to Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa on passing downs.

With Bosa's hamstring injury seemingly all clear, we could see the Chargers do this more, resulting in Williams' snap count getting wiped away.
