Denver Broncos: Baron Browning
We would love to make Russell Wilson the most overrated player on the Denver Broncos but the fact of the matter is that everyone knows he is past his prime at this point in his career. The number of people that are still overrating him as an elite quarterback are slim to none.
Instead, we are going to follow a similar path as last season and target a pass rusher as the most overrated player in Denver. Last year we tabbed Randy Gregory as the most overrated player as he was pitched as this massive addition that was going to change everything. He got hurt and hardly played.
This year, we are circling edge rusher, Baron Browning. Browning moved from inside linebacker to outside linebacker and did show some flashes on the edge, making the Broncos comfortable enough to trade away Bradley Chubb last season.
Browning is going to have a really hard time filling in for Chubb as his numbers do not match up with the eye test. According to Pro Football Focus, Browning finished last season with 38 pressures in 284 pass-rushing snaps. That is by no means awful but it is merely middle of the road.
Those certainly aren't the numbers you want out of your starting edge rusher who is meant to be a massive difference-maker, especially when he struggles against the run. With a refined offensive line, the Chargers should be more than able to contain Browning.
