3 distinct advantages the LA Chargers have over the Denver Broncos
By Jason Reed
3. Continuity
When you are breaking down two potentially elite teams like the Chargers and Broncos, something as small as continuity could have a massive difference. We saw this last season with the Chargers. It was a brand-new system with some new faces and there were some growing pains as a result.
While the Chargers did add new players, primarily to the defensive side of the football, the foundation of the team has been established and there is continuity with the young quarterback and the young head coach. They have been in some big spots together and there is more trust there.
The Broncos have very little to no continuity. While there are similar players on offense and defense, the most important areas to have this continuity is with the quarterback and head coach. Not only does Denver have a first-year head coach but they have a quarterback who is coming in from a completely different system that not only has to learn a new system but learn his new teammates as well.
The Broncos will definitely make the playoffs, there is no doubt about that. But if we are talking about the difference in winning the AFC West, this could very well be it. The division could come down to 1-2 key moments between these two teams and the continuity the Chargers have is going to make a massive difference.

Again, we are splitting hairs but these are the two best teams in the AFC West we are talking about. Chiefs fans are going to hate it, but the first and second-place finishers in the AFC West will be the Chargers and Broncos, hopefully in that order.
