Chargers vs 49ers odds and prediction for Week 10 Sunday Night Football
By Jason Reed
The LA Chargers came out of the bye week somehow being more injured than they were going into the bye week but still were able to rally and defeat the Atlanta Falcons with a last-second field goal. In Week 10, the Chargers take on another team that has battled the injury bug in the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers are coming out of their bye week and are actually healing up in the process. While the 49ers are not 100%, they are a lot closer to 100% than the Chargers are and get the advantage of being at home on extra rest.
The Chargers are actually riding a five-game winning streak against the 49ers that dates back to 2002. Unfortunately for Chargers fans, oddsmakers in Vegas do not think that the streak will continue in this Week 10 Sunday Night Football marquee.
Chargers vs 49ers odds for Week 10 Sunday Night Football:
The 49ers originally opened as 6.5-point favorites against the Chargers and are already receiving the love of the public as the line has moved to 49ers by seven. This is actually the largest underdog that the Bolts have been all season.
This makes the 49ers a -300 moneyline favorite while the Chargers check in as a +245 moneyline underdog. The point total for the game is around the league average with the line checking in at 46.5 points with no extra juice on either side.
Chargers vs 49ers prediction for Week 10 Sunday Night Football:
You might think that we just ride the Chargers against the spread since this is a Chargers website but that is not the case at all. We often give out objective picks here at Bolt Beat our results against the spread have spoken for themselves. I am 5-2-1 ATS in Chargers games this season.
So what is the pick this week? Unfortunately for Chargers fans, it is hard not to love the 49ers in this matchup, even at -7. Not only are the 49ers coming off of a bye and are getting healthier but they are such a nightmare matchup for the Chargers.
This is a team that has dangerous weapons on the offensive side of the ball and they will relentlessly lean on those weapons in the running and short passing game. That is the Chargers' weakness as the Bolts rank dead last in yards per carry. If the Falcons were able to drive down the field with the run, the 49ers will be able to do so even more.
San Francisco also has one of the best pass rushes in the game against an offensive line that could be without starting right tackle Trey Pipkins. Storm Norton is the worst tackle in the league and him against Nick Bosa is going to be an absolute nightmare.
Even though Justin Herbert looked healthy again in Week 10 against the Falcons, he simply does not have the weapons to overcome this attack from San Francisco. I am taking 49ers -7 and under 46.5 points with a final score prediction of 49ers 27, Chargers 16.
