The LA Chargers have been relatively busy this offseason as the team created cap space with restructures to be able to re-sign several key free agents. While the team probably hasn't improved much yet, it also has not gotten any worse.
In the land of the NFL that is a good thing, especially considering the Chargers were a 10-win playoff team last season. The Chargers staying around the same and adding draft talent will look like an improvement when compared to some teams that LA will face in 2023.
3 Chargers 2023 opponents who have gotten worse this offseason:
3. Las Vegas Raiders
Raiders fans are probably sick of reading all the things we have to say about the Raiders' offseason so far but then again, why are Raiders fans reading articles on a Chargers website?
The fact of the matter is that the Raiders have gotten worse this offseason. The bottom might not have completely fallen out but compared to last year, the 2022 Raiders are going to have a tough go at things. And 2022 was not even that good for the team.
The Raiders somehow got a worse version of a game-managing quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo and traded away the team's second-best pass-catcher in Darren Waller. There have been supplemental additions like Jakobi Meyer but nothing that really turns heads.
Vegas has not fixed its defensive problems and while it still has the 2023 NFL Draft to do so, it is hard to look at that roster right now and say it is any better than the roster that went 6-11 last season.
