Brawl erupts in Chargers-Cowboys before Monday Night Football kicks off

This was a better fight than the YouTube boxing match that happened over the weekend.

The LA Chargers and Dallas Cowboys are not rivals but there is certainly extra juice in the Monday Night Football matchup in Week 6. Dubbed as the "Kellen Moore" bowl by some, the Chargers' offensive coordinator has become the talk of the matchup leading up to the game.

That is not the only extra juice that is added to this game. Both teams enter Week 6 needing a win. The Chargers are looking to build momentum while the Cowboys are looking to wipe away the ugly taste from a blowout loss last week.

It is safe to say that tensions are high between the Chargers and Cowboys and that boiled over before the game even began. About 30 minutes before kickoff the Chargers and Cowboys erupted in a brawl where there was shoving and punches thrown.

Chargers and Cowboys brawl before Monday Night Football

Chargers fans in attendance at the game told Bolt Beat that the confrontation started after the Cowboys ran through the Chargers' warm-up lines and this video seems to confirm it. It looked like this was just going to be a situation where the two teams would jaw at each other but it quickly escalated.

Running back Austin Ekeler, who is making his return after missing the Chargers' last three games, got caught up in the middle of the brawl and appeared to take the biggest shot. Ekeler was hit/shoved so hard in the helmet that it flew off of his head. He appears to be okay, though.

Both teams are definitely going to look to impose their physicality over one another during the game and it will be interesting to see how this translates to the field. Both teams are going to be coming into the game hot and football fans may see an extremely chippy affair.

Hopefully, nobody on either side gets hurt and the hits don't skew into being dirty. The last thing that anyone needs is another Jerry Tillery situation from Week 4.
