Zach Frazier would make the Chargers a true playoff contender

Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson is the best center in this draft class and very early on in the offseason it seemed like he could potentially be available for the Bolts with the 37th pick. It didn't take long for that to become unrealistic, as JPJ is very obviously going to go in the top 25 picks.

The Chargers can still land a very talented center who is projected to go in the late first round in West Virginia's Zach Frazier. Frazier might not be the best center in this class, but he is still extremely talented and would instantly add a boost to the Chargers' offensive line.

It is more likely than not that Frazier is taken before the Chargers are on the clock at 37 but there certainly is a chance that he could fall to the Bolts. There are not many teams that need a starting center like the Chargers do, which increases the team's chances.

What makes Frazier even more enticing is the fact that he is one of the best run-blocking offensive linemen in this draft class. The Chargers need to reinvent the team's running game under Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman. Drafting someone like Frazier is a huge step in the right direction.

It might not be the flashiest pick, but it is hard to understate the importance of a good center like Frazier to the Chargers.
