The LA Chargers are coming out of the bye week with a 4-2 record and a much easier schedule after the bye week. With the Kansas City Chiefs' struggles, the Chargers have a legitimate chance to win the AFC West and prove that they are the best team in the division.
While the team as a whole has been really promising, there are certain players who really need to kick it into gear after the bye week.
The final 11 games are extremely important for certain Chargers because if they do not improve in those final 11 games then they might not suit up for the Bolts after the 2021 season.
The five LA Chargers who won't return in 2022 unless they improve after the bye week:
1. Uchenna Nwosu
Uchenna Nwosu was tasked with the starting edge rusher job with Melvin Ingram leaving the team. Nwosu has ended up splitting time with Kyler Fackrell and has not been good whatsoever thus far this season.
It has not been good against the run or the pass for Nwosu. He has not proven to be the capable edge rusher that the Chargers wanted him to be and drafted him in the second round to be. At this point, he does not even look like a starting-caliber player.
Nwosu still shows those signs of potential, though, and there is a world in which he figures it out and earns a contract with the Bolts after the season. However, with Nwosu being an impending free agent, it feels as if his time as a Charger is coming to an end.
