Justin Herbert isn't just one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL; he is one of the most disrespected as well. The LA Chargers' signal-caller has proven time and time again that he is one of the league's best but it has not mattered to many analysts.

Herbert's 0-2 playoff record does him no favors, especially considering how he played in the Chargers' last playoff game against the Houston Texans. However, as Chargers fans know all too well, Herbert simply does not get the help that other quarterbacks get. Whether it be the defense, the offensive line, or the wide receivers, Herbert's supporting cast tends to let him down.

It may seem like a cop out by non-Chargers fans, but the facts speak for themselves. NFL analyst Warren Sharp recently helped Chargers fans' claims, showing just how little help he got from his wideouts in 2024.

On one hand, it's nice to feel justified as a Chargers fan who constantly has to defend Herbert from fans of other teams who do not see the entire picture. On the other hand, it's upsetting to see just how little help Herbert gets from his teammates.

As seen in the initial post, only the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets had a higher percentage of incompletions due to receivers than the Chargers.

The most jarring numbers are the fourth-quarter numbers. It's actually staggering that more than half of Herbert's incompletions in the fourth quarter were because of his receivers. Herbert is in a completely different ballpark than anyone else, nearly doubling second place.

There is some support on the way with second-round pick Tre Harris and veteran Mike Williams both likely playing prominent roles in the offense in 2025. However, Quentin Johnston is also likely going to play a prominent role. Unless he completely changes, Herbert may deal with the same issues in 2025.

It's a shame, really, that the Chargers' receiving corps hasn't been able to pick up the slack for their elite quarterback. And even when they do play well, Herbert also has to deal with a struggling offensive line that still includes Bradley Bozeman and Zion Johnson.

Any time another football fan questions Justin Herbert just send them this articles. Sure, he's not perfect, but many of his shortcomings are because of his teammates, not because of him.
