Najee Harris suffered an eye injury during a firework mishap on the Fourth of July that landed him on the PUP list during training camp. Ever since then, LA Chargers fans have been worried about whether or not Harris would be ready by Week 1.

Harris' agent initially said it was a superficial eye injury that would not impact his status for the 2025 season. However, Jim Harbaugh didn't sell fans on the idea of Harris returning when asked about his status for training camp, and heading into Week 2 of the preseason, he still is yet to practice.

The 2021 first-round pick has been working out on the side at Chargers camp the last week or so. While he is not doing individual drills, Harris has been walking around the practice grounds with a helmet and a weighted vest on.

Harris took the time during one of these strolls to post a picture of himself on his Snapchat story. In doing so, Harris gave fans their first look at his left eye. And while it is hard to completely make out, fans are still worried after the photo.

It's hard to make out exactly but it appears as if Harris' right eye is open and his left eye is closed. This look, mixed with all the uncertainty around the injury, is what is giving Chargers fans pause.

There is less than one month remaining until the Chargers kickstart the 2025 season in Brazil against the Kansas City Chiefs. Harris hasn't even done a proper practice with the Chargers in training camp and it is unclear when he will be able to do so.

The more time passes the less likely it becomes that Harris will be ready to play in Week 1 against the Chiefs. From there, there is no knowing how long the former Steelers running back will be out of commission. Will it be a few weeks? A few months? Will he ever be the same.

At some point, there will have to be some kind of answers provided to Chargers fans. Fans don't need Harris to rip his helmet off and show off his injured eye, but there will be a point where rubber meets the road and answers will have to come out.

Until then, fans are going to continue to worry about Harris and whether or not he will be able to contribute to the team.
