Justin Herbert and most other starters, presumably, won't play in the LA Chargers' season finale against the Denver Broncos. The only thing on the line for the Bolts is wild-card seeding, which isn't worth the risk of a star player getting hurt.
Keenan Allen may think differently, though. The veteran wideout is one of the most important players on offense and would benefit from a week off before the NFL Playoffs. However, if he plays on Sunday, he could earn quite a pay raise from the Chargers.
Allen's one-year deal with the Chargers was full of incentives, several of which he is right on the cusp of obtaining. The veteran wideout doesn't even need a massive game to hit his incentives; he just needs a handful of catches for barely any yards.

Keenan Allen needs six catches and nine yards to earn an extra $1 million from the Chargers
Allen could earn upwards of $1.75 million in the final week of the season, but the larger incentives are largely unrealistic. What is realistic is hauling in six catches for nine yards in a game the Chargers don't really care about.
Trey Lance will start at quarterback for the Bolts and someone has to play for the Chargers at wide receiver. Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston will almost certainly rest, allowing Tre' Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith more opportunities in the passing game.
The Chargers still need a slot receiver in this layout, giving Allen an opportunity to play a handful of drives with the lone intention of hitting is incentives. It shouldn't take much, either, as it's almost impossible not to hit nine yards with six receptions in the game.
It will be interesting to see how Allen's incentives factor into the Chargers' game plan. Will the Chargers spam screens to Allen just to get him to six catches? Theoretically, the team could just overload hitch and slant routes to Allen not with the intention of moving the ball down the field, but with the intention of getting him paid.
Will it come at the beginning of the game to get it out of the way so the young guys can play? Will it come at the end of the game once the outcome is already decided and the Broncos are less inclined to stop it? Or will it come at all? Could the Chargers rest Allen to keep him healthy for the playoffs?
If Allen plays, he's almost guaranteed to $250,000 bonus for nine receiving yards. It's the six catches that will be harder to get. Allen has caught six passes in just three games this season and hasn't done so since he caught 11 passes against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.
