Better than nothing!

It feels like the Chargers-San Diego split is still a sore subject for a lot of fans, and it's hard to blame them. Things between the team and the city didn't exactly end well, and immediately becoming the punchline of Los Angeles' football scene wasn't a great start either.

The good news – for the Chargers, at least – is that they have Jim Harbaugh. It's hard to think of a coach more better-suited to battle the weird vibes and generally-negative perception around the team, and Harbaugh's unique blend of football enthusiasm and silly euphemisms are perfect for tackling sore subjects like, for instance, playing in San Diego for a few days during training camp. Next month, they'll return to San Diego for the second straight year – and when asked about the move, Harbaugh's enthusiasm for the experience was, admittedly, kind of contagious.

Jim Harbaugh's excitement for Chargers' San Diego return is contagious

"It's a great feeling for the whole organization," he said. "We want to go where our fans are. You know? They come to see us, they come to SoFi, they come to training camp. That means a lot to us. It means everything, really, to have that support on game days and practice days. For us to go and visit them? If we have that opportunity, we sure as heck want to take it."

It's a lot of passion for two practice days at a college stadium, but Harbaugh clearly has at least something of an understanding about how much passion there still is for the Chargers in San Diego. He doesn't even say anything that kooky here, and yet you can still clearly tell how amped he is to just go do football things with football fans. (And if he's not, he's an incredible liar and in the wrong industry.)

I certainly wouldn't blame any Chargers fan for not being excited about only getting to watch my favorite team for two (2) days of half-speed practice, but that's okay – Harbaugh will bring enough enthusiasm for everyone.
