The LA Chargers went from being one of the worst-coached teams in the league to one of the best under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Despite the stark (and instant) turnaround, some fans are not happy with every member of the team's coaching staff.

Offensive coordinator Greg Roman has built a bit of a reputation for himself. Chargers fans weren't thrilled with the hire when it happened and after watching Justin Herbert struggle in the NFL Playoffs, many wanted the team to go in a different direction.

Those who wanted Roman out of Los Angeles might be disappointed with what Harbaugh had to say during Wednesday's end-of-season press conference. Harbaugh stated he doesn't expect to make any changes to the coaching staff this offseason, which means Roman is keeping his job.

Greg Roman, other Chargers coaches to return in 2025

While it may seem outrageous to some, keeping Roman in Los Angeles is 100% the right move for the Chargers to make. Justin Herbert has had next to no consistency at the offensive coordinator position and reshuffling the deck another time does nothing to help that cause.

Herbert has had four different offensive coordinators in his five years in the league with Joe Lombardi being the only one who got a second season. And if Lombardi taught fans anything, it is that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Roman was far from perfect as an offensive coordinator and there were glaring areas to fix on that side of the ball. His gameplan and inability to counter what the Texans were doing on Saturday was particularly frustrating and put Herbert in a tough place to succeed.

However, it's important not to make a decision that will impact several years of the franchise because of a few inconsistencies. Like Harbaugh does with his players, Roman can be coached up and learn from his mistakes. So can the offense as a whole.

This doesn't mean Roman is guaranteed to work out, but the Chargers have to at least give him a chance to work out. If the team gave up on him after one season it would just continue the revolving door of offensive coordinators in LA, which is not a recipe for success.

Jesse Minter expected to stay with the Chargers as well

Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter is in a different situation where fans were worried he would leave the team for a promotion this offseason. Despite piloting the No. 1 scoring defense in the league, Minter did not receive any interview requests in the first wave of interviews, leading many to believe he was staying in Los Angeles.

Harbaugh's comments only reinforce that belief. Of course, anything can happen and nothing is locked in stone in January, but Chargers fans likely don't have to worry about Minter leaving in 2025.

And just like with Roman, that is a great thing. There has been very little consistency in Los Angeles in recent years and it is time for that to change. Harbaugh and his coaching staff are running it back in 2025 with more resources this offseason. It should result in something special.
