Los Angeles Chargers fans have slowly but surely started getting their hopes up that a reunion with former fan favorite wide receiver Keenan Allen could be in the works. The Chargers could still use help at wide receiver and obviously fans know what the longtime Bolts wideout is capable of.

All of that being said, until Allen has officially re-signed with his old team, anything is possible. Yes, even Allen joining a hated division rival, something former Chargers (and Broncos) cornerback Chris Harris Jr. floated around during an appearance on The Up & Adams Show.

"[The] Chiefs might be a good pickup for him you know? But I don't know if he wants to go there," Harris said. "The Chargers could still use him, right? They might as well bring the band back, they already got Mike [Williams] back so they might as well bring Keenan back. He's probably already living there so it's going to be interesting to see where he goes."

This ex-Chargers player’s plan would break fans (and he knows it)

Okay, the second part of Harris' comments are fine because yes, the Chargers could still use Allen and yes, they already brought back Mike Williams. Why not just keep re-signing old weapons of Justin Herbert's?

The first part of the comment, however, that's a big no-no for Chargers fans. Allen joining the Chiefs not only would look weird but it'd be a huge slap in the face to the fan base that rooted for him for over a decade.

As much as Chargers fans don't want to see an Allen to Kansas City scenario play out, it wouldn't be the craziest idea for the long-time Bolts receiver. The Chiefs could use help at the position and, as much as fans don't want to admit it, going to Kansas City would give Allen an opportunity to "ring chase", so to speak.

That being said, hopefully Harris just threw that idea out there because of his less-than-stellar stint with the Chargers organization and the fanbase not being huge supporters of him. Maybe he was simply just trolling them in the one way he knew would truly hurt them.

As mentioned above, however, until Allen has officially signed a deal marking his return to the Los Angeles Chargers, fans are going to be uneasy. Let's just hope linking up with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs isn't on the table though because that would be a tough pill to swallow.
