The LA Chargers drafted Omarion Hampton with the No. 22 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and it did not take long for him to go viral. A photo of him shaking Jim Harbaugh's hand emerged that, because of the perspective of the photo, made Hampton look like a literal giant compared to his six-four head coach.
The photo was flattering and bit misleading considering Hampton is actually shorter than Harbaugh. However, that does not change the fact that Hampton is a physical specimen. Hampton posseses the rare blend of size and athleticism that simply cannot be taught.
Chargers fans got their first true look at his size thanks to the league's rookie premier showcase. Hampton donned the full Chargers uniform for the first time as part of a photo shoot and to say fans are excited would be an understatement.
Chargers fans are hyped after first look at Omarion Hampton in powder blue
Doesn't Hampton just look born to be a Chargers running back? Anyone looks good in the powder blue, to be fair, but this looks like someone who is going to be a pillar of the offense for years to come.
Chargers fans are already hyping themselves up over seeing Hampton at full speed in the regular season and it is hard to blame them. The rookie running back has the look of being one of the top backs in the league and that's evident just from seeing him in NFL pads.
Many draft analysts viewed Hampton as one of the better running back prospects to come out of the draft in recent years. He was buried a bit by being in the same class as Ashton Jeanty, who was the most hyped running back prospect since Saquon Barkley.
That worked out in the Chargers' favor as the team was able to draft someone who might be one of the 10 most talented players in the class with the No. 22 pick. Fans know this, hence why there is so much excitement around seeing Hampton in uniform for the first time.
The countdown is officially on until Chargers fans can get a better look at Hampton in training camp and the preseason. It's only another three and a half months until they can see him in legitimate game action in Week 1.
