The LA Chargers have not gotten along well with NFL officials recently. It started in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos where the officials made not one, but two egregious calls that could have shifted the tide of the game.

This was followed by two asinine calls against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7 that did change the tide and cost the Chargers the game. With better officiating, the Chargers would be 5-3 right now instead of 4-3.

The trend continued in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. One of the most impressive touchdown throws of Justin Herbert's career was taken away from the Bolts even though it appeared as if Simi Fehoko's feet were in bounds.

It was a bang-bang play that the referees should have gotten right with the benefit of replay. But they didn't, and Fehoko took to social media on Monday to provide picture evidence that the refs were wrong.

Chargers' WR Simi Fehoko subtly calls out NFL refs for botched TD call

It was apparent on the TV broadcast that Fehoko drug his right foot before going out of bounds but for some reason, the referees did not see what everyone at home saw. Even the broadcast was expecting the call to be overturned only to be surprised when it wasn't.

Ultimately, this did not impact the game as the Chargers put away the Saints with a strong second half. This does not make the call any better, however, as the game was much closer for much longer than the final score indicates.

And while it may not have impacted the game, it still took an awesome moment away from Fehoko. Fehoko only has one receiving touchdown in his entire career, making any new trip to the endzone extra special. He was robbed of what should have been his second touchdown.

This is simply another example of how poor the officiating has been in the NFL and how something needs to change. Whether it be this or the controversial Kyle Pitts touchdown that looked like a fumble but could not be overturned because "there was no goal-line camera", the officiating needs to be better.

There is far too much technology to continually mess these calls up as often as the NFL referees do. It simply has to be better. Fans know it, Simi Fehoko knows it, and the refs themselves should know it, too.
