It wasn't pretty, but you don't draw pictures in the record books. The LA Chargers outlasted the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime on Monday night to give Jim Harbaugh the biggest statement win of his two-year Chargers tenure.
The Chargers clinched a winning record with Monday night's win and put themselves in a much more manageable position to make the playoffs. Los Angeles controls a one-game lead over the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts and a three-game lead over the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card race.
It was a big win for the Chargers, so big in fact that Harbaugh couldn't contain his excitement after the game. When talking to reporters after the game, Harbaugh compared Monday night's win to some of the most monumental days of his life: his marriage and the birth of his seven children.

Jim Harbaugh couldn't be more fired up after Chargers' win over Eagles
Those are usually the two most important days of people's lives, so it's surprising to hear that a regular-season win over a non-conference opponent also sits in such rare air. It's even more surprising when Harbaugh has coached a team to the Super Bowl and recently won the National Championship with his alma mater.
Obviously, this is tongue-in-cheek from Harbaugh, but it doesn't change how monumental this win is for the Chargers. Many penciled the Chargers in to lose this game, which would have dropped the team down to a three-way tie at 8-5 with Houston and Indy.
That would have been compounded by the remaining schedule the Chargers have to endure. Los Angeles doesn't have an easy game remaining, playing two hungry teams in the hunt in the Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys, a defensive menace in the Houston Texans, and the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Denver Broncos.
If the Chargers had gotten embarrassed in primetime the conversation wouldn't have been about the Bolts being a Super Bowl contender. It would have been about whether or not they would win another game.
Instead, the Chargers clearly established themselves as a team with a legitimate shot at going all the way, as well as being a team that can endure this tough final stretch to clinch a trip to the NFL Playoffs.
It may not actually be up there with Harbaugh's marriage or the birth of his seven children, but it's certainly the most impactful win he's had since returning to the NFL. Now the key is turning this one win into some momentum, and who knows, the Bolts could potentially even make a run at the AFC West crown.
