LA Chargers safety Tony Jefferson was ejected in the second half of Sunday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs due to a polarizing helmet-to-helmet hit on Tyquan Thornton. After the ejection, Jefferson inadvertently made sure he would receive an even larger fine by flipping a not-so-kind gesture at Kansas City fans.

There's no question that Jefferson will be fined by the NFL after his actions. But it doesn't seem to be bothering the veteran tight end very much.

Chiefs fans were pretty upset with Jefferson and it was amplified after they had to watch their beloved dynasty end before their very eyes. This, naturally, resulted in Chiefs fans sending their best wishes to Jefferson on social media. Some even warranted a response from Jefferson himself.

Well, it seems like Jefferson isn't too concerned with the tens-of-thousands of dollars that will be taken out of his game check for Week 15. After all, Jefferson makes roughly $73,823 per game before taxes. The veteran safety has made just under $33 million in his NFL career.

The more impactful wrinkle for the Chargers is if the league suspends Jefferson for his antics. The NFL has the right to suspend Jefferson for unsportsmanlike conduct or conduct that's detrimental to the league. Flipping the bird at fans may fall into the latter bucket.

Jefferson has been one of the most impactful players on the Chargers' defense, and losing him for any amount of time would be detrimental. It's unlikely any punishment would be more than a game, and the Chargers square off against an explosive Dallas Cowboys team next Sunday.

Dallas will be desperate as it fights for its postseason life. It's an impossibly high hill for the Cowboys to climb, but the playoffs are technically still possible. The entire kitchen sink will be thrown at the Bolts, and not having Jefferson would change the dynamic.

As long as Jefferson is healthy and playing in the NFL Playoffs the Chargers won't lose any sleep. The veteran safety has four interceptions this season, one of which won the game for the Chargers against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jefferson certainly isn't worried about the monetary fine, and he doesn't seem bothered at all about a potential suspension. So maybe Chargers fans shouldn't be either.
