Despite their impressive 7-4 record, the Los Angeles Chargers are far from being a complete team. While the issue has been magnified by injuries this season, this team’s lack of talent and depth on the interior of the offensive line has the team hanging by a thread.

Per PFF, Justin Herbert has been pressured on 41.3% of his dropbacks this season. That's the second-highest mark of any quarterback in the league, only behind Justin Fields.

The offensive line's performance must be improved if this team is going to take the next step in its path toward contention. Of course, long-term injuries to both Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt have contributed to the unit's struggles, but the players on the interior have been poor as well.

Luckily, the upcoming NFL Draft holds prospects throughout the class to help fix the issue before it derails the course of this franchise. Let's take a look at some options from each day of the draft.

2026 NFL Draft holds Chargers' solutions to interior offensive line needs

Chargers' fits on day one

The Chargers will likely be picking near the end of the first round. Their choices on the interior of the offensive line will be limited, but there are a few intriguing prospects in this range. If he falls to them, Miami's Francis Mauigoa would be an exciting pick. He currently plays offensive tackle but could make the move inside if needed.

Penn State's Olaivavega Ioane may be the top true guard prospect in the class. He would immediately slot in as a starter for Los Angeles, improving their pass protection immensely.

Chargers' fits on day two

In the second round, Oregon guard Emmanuel Pregnon could be an ideal fit. He's an excellent pass blocker with the size to hold up against NFL defensive tackles. Auburn center Connor Lew deserves a shout here, although he may choose to return to school next year.

In round three, Stanford's Niki Prongos could be a good developmental selection. He's primarily a tackle, but his raw ability suggests that he could be shaped into a quality guard as well.

Chargers' fits on day three

Another tackle who could move inside, Duke's Brian Parker II could be a good fit on day three. He's slowly climbed up draft boards this year, solidifying his potential as a future starter in the NFL. In the later rounds, Texas guard DJ Campbell and Alabama guard Jaeden Roberts are names to monitor.
