Quentin Johnston made headlines on Monday for yet another painful drop that changed the game for the LA Chargers. While Johnston received the support of his quarterback, his loudest critics were out in full force after the consequential drop.

Johnston responded to the criticism after the drop and took full ownership of the situation. Instead of trying to divert the attention or put blame elsewhere (like some star receivers do), Johnston took it on the chin and was rather straightforward about his play.

“You kind of just learn not to dwell on it too much, and just try to put it past me as much as I can. Obviously I want to have catches back, but I can’t. So I can’t do anything but just learn from it," Johnston said. "I know I’ve got to get better.”

Chargers injury report includes multiple DNPs

The Chargers are coming off a hard-fought loss to the Baltimore Ravens and have a shorter week to prepare for an early road game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Los Angeles' first injury report of the week on Wednesday is a cause for concern. Six players were listed on the injury report, all of which were DNPs. Khalil Mack (rest), J.K. Dobbins (Knee), Denzel Perryman (groin), Cam Hart (ankle), Alohi Gilman (hamstring) and Will Dissly (groin) are the six players in question on the injury report.

The only player who fans do not need to be concerned about is Mack, as Wednesday was merely a veteran rest day for the edge rusher. Dobbins has already been ruled out of Week 13's game at Atlanta.

Chargers place Eli Apple on IR

Eli Apple was signed to the active roster ahead of Monday's game after being a practice squad elevation three times. The Chargers needed the cornerback depth with Hart missing Monday's game with an ankle injury he suffered during Saturday's practice.

Unfortunately, Apple was dealt the same unlucky hand that several others in the cornerback room has been dealt. The former Cincinnati Bengal was placed on the IR on Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Apple has to miss at least four games and may not play again in 2024.

Derrick Henry responds to Khalil Mack's comments

Khalil Mack made headlines after Monday's loss by saying Derrick Henry was not hard to play against. Unfortunately, these comments got taken slightly out of context as Mack was more so talking about how he enjoys going up against fellow great players and embraces the challenges.

Of course, because the quote was taken out of context and drama sells, Henry was asked about Mack's comments during media availability. Henry was rather blunt in his response but did not escalate the situation.

"I don't care. We won. "

Derrick Henry

Henry isn't wrong and hopefully Mack gets his wish to face this Ravens team again in the playoffs and get revenge when the lights are the brightest.
