Mike Williams had his free agency signing press conference at The Bolt on Friday. After returning to the LA Chargers on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million, Williams donned a powder blue hat and sweater for the first time since his original departure as he fielded questions from the media.

Notable quotes from Williams include admitting that his last season was "terrible". He noted the long, difficult process he had to do in recovering from his torn ACL in 2023. Williams also said that he never wanted to leave Los Angeles in the first place last offseason, but that it was the "business part of football".

In a noteworthy statement, he also said that he kept in touch with Justin Herbert dating back to last season as well as during this free agency period.

The quote that got everyone's attention though was about former Chargers WR Keenan Allen. ESPN's Kris Rhim ended the press conference by asking Williams if he recruited Allen at all to come back to the Chargers. With a smile and a laugh, Williams replied with, "We ain't gon' speak on that. We ain't gonna talk about that."

Williams also admitted that he would love the possibility of Allen returning to the Chargers.

When asked directly if he'd be open to Allen's return, Williams gave an emphatic response. "Hell yeah! That's my dawg. We be together every other day. Yeah, I would love that." He finished the press conference by saying, "hopefully" to an Allen reunion with the Chargers.

Allen remains a free agent after the first wave of wide receiver signings. After playing his final game of the season for the Bears, Allen said he was interested in either re-signing with Chicago or playing for the Chargers/Rams in Los Angeles. With the Rams signing WR Davante Adams, the second LA team probably isn't as much of an option for Allen anymore.

It will depend on Allen's market and the Chargers' interest, but both sides certainly have the ability to reunite if they want to this offseason. Williams seems to already have indicated what he wants for Allen and the Chargers in 2025.
