In the final two weeks or so of the 2025 NFL Draft cycle, more Chargers' prospect visits are coming out via reporters. Earlier this morning, The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler mentioned the Chargers visiting later in the week with Arizona running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

News from FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz would then suggest that Croskey-Merritt will be the second Arizona prospect the Chargers have met with. Schultz reported that the Chargers have already met with projected first-round pick, wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.

In his post, Schultz reveals a reported quote on McMillan from an executive with a 2024 playoff team. "He's got true star-level tools and elite production," the executive said. "Our entire building loves him. There's just no way he makes it to us."

Some have speculated online that the Chargers were the only playoff team last season among the group Schultz listed. Of course, that's simply speculation as opposed to being a confirmed source of the quote.

Tetairoa McMillan would be a best-case draft scenario for the Chargers

McMillan had 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns during his final collegiate season. With size and incredible ball skills, McMillan presents challenges for defenses vertically. He had a 60% contested catch rate last season in addition to one of the top PFF grades (89.1) vs. man coverage in the class.

Some discussion has taken place on McMillan's speed after opting not to test at the NFL Combine. At his pro day, he was timed at a 4.53 40-yard dash. He did not qualify for a Relative Athletic Score after passing on agility and explosiveness testing.

On tape, McMillan is plenty fast enough for the type of above-the-rim player he is. He shouldn't be expected to be an offensive burner, but he also doesn't need to be one.

In a mock draft last month, Daniel Jeremiah projected the exact scenario of McMillan to the Chargers at 22. He also ranked him as the 18th best player in the class.

In my personal rankings, I ranked McMillan as WR2 of the draft class behind only 2024 Heisman winner Travis Hunter.

We'll have to see where the cards fall on draft night. But keep an eye on the Arizona prospect if he falls to 22. If he even gets close to the 22nd pick, perhaps the Chargers also consider a small trade up the board with their 10 overall picks in this draft.
