Quentin Johnston

It seems less likely than other players on this list simply because of how the draft will shake out, but there is a chance the Chargers take a wide receiver in the first two rounds who can usurp Quentin Johnston in the depth chart right away.

The first-round receivers are not as exciting as a year ago but if Emeke Egbuka falls to 22 the Chargers may not be able to help themselves. Even Jayden Higgins in the second round would be a tantalizing idea the Chargers may not be able to pass up.

An early wide receiver would almost certainly kick Johnston out of the regular starting group in 2025. Ladd McConkey would start in the slot with the rookie receiver and Mike Williams on the outside. Johnson is younger and may get the benefit of the doubt early on, but Williams' reliable nature would eventually catapult him ahead of Johnston.

Even if Johnston doesn't lose his job as a result of the 2025 NFL Draft, it still may be inevitable for the third-year wideout. Keenan Allen returning to the Chargers is a real possibility and if it happens, Johnston will be pushed from starting receiver to depth receiver.

And if Johnston doesn't figure it out in 2025 then there is no guarantee he will even be on the roster for his fourth season.

Andre James/Bradley Bozeman/Zion Johnson

A trio of Chargers make up the final player who may lose their job because of the NFL Draft. Why three? Well, right now, it is impossible to predict which two of these players will actually emerge as the Chargers' starting offensive linemen in 2025.

The favorites are Andre James and Zion Johnson, who would be starting at center and left guard, respectively. However, the door is also open for Johnson to play center, which could open the door for the Chargers to draft a new starting left guard.

Two of these three players should start on the offensive line in 2025 but only one may get a spot if the Chargers draft an exciting prospect.

Each player makes relatively little and has a polarizing range of a high floor with a low ceiling. Nothing is guaranteed for any of these offensive linemen. A talented rookie could absolutely come in and steal a starting spot right from a veteran's grasp.
