The LA Chargers did a great job of filling the baseline roster needs in free agency to give themselves leeway in the 2025 NFL Draft. Without any glaring roster need, the Chargers are in a position to take the best player available at every single turn.

As a result, mixed with the team picking later in the draft, it is hard to pinpoint exactly what the Bolts will do in the draft this year. A lot of the team's decisions will be situational as the Chargers are forced to react to what the 21 teams ahead of them do.

Regardless of which direction the Chargers take, there will undoubtedly be several players on the roster whose jobs are in jeopardy in the draft. Right now, these players are merely placeholders that could be replaced by exciting young talent in the draft.

A sixth-round player isn't going to be a shoo-in to replace someone on the depth chart and there are only so many starting-caliber players in the draft. That being said, because of the variance, there are quite a few players in danger depending how the 2025 NFL Draft shakes out.

Kimani Vidal

Kimani Vidal is currently penciled in as the RB2 on the Chargers depth chart behind Najee Harris. As exciting as Vidal was coming out of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chargers have not shown enough faith in him for anyone to expect him to actually be the RB2 in Week 1.

There is no doubt whatsoever that the Chargers will find someone to replace Vidal as Harris' primary running mate. The only question is whether it comes in the early rounds of the draft or if it comes via a veteran free agent who is still on the market.

Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson has emerged as many fans' dream second-round pick but there is no guarantee he will last until the 55th pick. Henderson would give the Chargers a perfect complementary back for Harris while also providing a long-term starting presence.

It is not Henderson or bust for the Chargers, though, as this year's draft class is stacked with running back talent. It could come in the second round, later in rounds three or four, or even come in the first round if Omarion Hampton is on the board.

Regardless of when it comes or how it comes, Vidal will be pushed down the depth chart shortly after the draft.
