Chargers' Khalil Mack suffers terrifying arm injury vs Raiders

Khalil Mack wasted no time doing what he always does against the Las Vegas Raiders: record a consequential sack on a key down. However, later in the first quarter, the LA Chargers pass rusher suffered an injury that made every fans' heart drop.

On the last play of the first quarter, Mack chased wide receiver Tre Tucker near the sideline on a first-down run. In his pursuit, Mack collided with teammate Troy Dye, who hit his outstretched arm as he fell to the ground.

Mack instantly ran off the field holding his wrist in place. Chargers personnel on the sideline quickly rushed him into the blue-medical tent. After commercial, Mack was seen exiting into the Chargers locker room.

The broadcast later confirmed that Mack is being taken to the Raiders' side of the field to get imaging done on his arm. Based on the angle at which it was hit, fans are worried Mack broke his arm and could be out an extended time.

Update: Jim Harbaugh provided no update after the game and said Mack will get imaging done on Tuesday. Harbaugh said he will have an update later in the week.

Update: Khalil Mack was officially ruled out and was seen on the sideline out of his pads and wearing a sling.

Update: The Chargers said it is an elbow injury for Mack and that he is questionable to return against the Raiders. Based on how it looked, fans shouldn't expect him to be back on Monday, despite the questionable tag.

Mack is such an impactful member of the Chargers' defense. Losing him for any amount of time would be a massive hit to the Chargers, who are also without Joey Bosa this season after releasing him this offseason.

It's not instantly clear how severe the injury is, although the early signs are not promising for the Chargers. Mack holding his wrist in place was an awful look, and the urgency to rush him back into the locker room is a worrying sign.
