The LA Chargers faced a true test on Monday Night Football as the Bolts hosted the Baltimore Ravens in what was dubbed the Harbaugh Bowl. Despite a strong start, the Chargers failed the test, falling 30-23 in a game the Ravens firmly controlled after the first quarter.

The final score was not indicative of the game itself. While the Chargers kept the score close, Baltimore controlled the entire flow of the game from the second quarter on. The Ravens forced the Chargers to play a perfect game and it was far from being that for the Bolts.

Those in the Chargers locker room were not deterred by the loss, though. Khalil Mack is already licking his chops for a future matchup against the Ravens down the line (which would have to come in the playoffs), even going as far as to say Henry is not "hard to play against."

Chargers' Khalil Mack says Derrick Henry is not hard to play against

Mack provided more context, acknowledging Henry's greatness while doubling down on the fact that it is not hard for him to square off against other greats.

“It's not hard for me to play against that guy. I love playing against the greats and this was no different," Mack said. “When I say ‘hard,’ I mean in the sense of playing against him. If I'm on the field, I know if he come to my side I got him.”

Chargers fans have to love the competitive fire of Khalil Mack. After all, that is what makes him one of the best edge rushers of this generation. You do not become an all-time great by bowing down and it goes without saying that Mack will not bow down to anyone.

That being said, it is objectively incorrect to say Henry is not tough to play against. While it might not be hard in a physical sense for someone as physically dominant as Mack, there is a reason why Henry is going down as the best running back of this generation.

This is like a great left tackle saying Mack is not hard to play against. An elite left tackle might be able to weather the storm and have some success against Mack but that does not mean he is easy to play against.

The numbers also contradict Mack's postgame comments. Henry did whatever he wanted in the game, carrying the ball 24 times for 140 yards. It goes deeper than the numbers, though, as Henry asserted his dominance over the Chargers multiple times in key spots with physical running.

We love the energy Mack and the Chargers have after the game. Los Angeles is already hungry for revenge over Baltimore and there is no guarantee these two teams will face each other again this season.

But to say Henry is not hard to play against? Well, that might be true for Mack on an individual level, but it obviously was not true for the entire team. Worst of all, Mack may have just given the Ravens more bulletin board material if these two teams square off again.
