Chargers' Justin Herbert needs just one drive to make Kenneth Murray look foolish
By Jason Reed
The LA Chargers welcomed several familiar faces back to SoFi Stadium in Week 10 against the Tennessee Titans. Kenneth Murray and Sebastian Joseph-Day are both playing the Chargers for the first time since leaving the team last year.
Chargers fans specifically looked forward to welcoming Murray back so the Bolts could get payback for what was a disappointing tenure in LA. Murray never quite lived up to expectations after the Chargers traded up to take the linebacker in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. For that reason, Murray became very unpopular among fans.
Murray's poor play has continued on the Titans, giving the Chargers something to exploit in Tennessee's defense. It took just one drive for Justin Herbert to expose the Murray-sized hole in the Titans' defense as the star quarterback juked Murray into a different area code.
Chargers' Justin Herbert welcomes Kenneth Murray back with viscous juke
Herbert is not known throughout the league for being a mobile quarterback but he has proven that he can make plays happen with his legs when necessary. While that is known among Chargers fans, it did not change how surprisingly nasty this juke move was on Murray.
The Chargers didn't find the end zone on the drive and had to settle for a field goal after Hayden Hurst dropped a wide-open pass in the flat. However, this juke is still a must-see highlight that will bring a smile to Chargers fans' faces.
If history repeats itself then this won't be then only defensive mistake Murray makes against his former team. Time and time again Murray would burn the Chargers on the defensive side, so it is only fitting that he repays the team with some defensive miscues of his own on his new team.
And best of all, the Chargers are actually getting something bigger out of Murray. Los Angeles is currently projected to get a compensatory fifth-round pick for Murray based on the overpriced contract he signed with the Tennessee Titans.
Must-see Justin Herbert highlights and an extra pick in the upcoming draft? It is about time Kenneth Murray starts giving the Chargers something!
