The LA Chargers haven't made a big move this offseason but the team is set up to take a swing if the right opportunity presents itself. There is no guarantee the Chargers make a big trade but if something huge develops, the Bolts will be ready.

Superstar trades can develop out of thin air and there is some hope among Chargers fans that the team will pursue the latest star wide receivers to be caught up in trade rumors. New Orleans Saints wideout Chris Olave is entering the last year of his rookie deal and while nothing concrete has been reported, the rumors are strong enough for Olave to respond cryptically on social media.

These emerging trade rumors, and Olave's subsequent response, have convinced some Chargers fans that he is destined to join the Bolts. Why? Olave grew up a Chargers fan and has not been shy about it in the past. The following tweet has made its rounds among Chargers fans as "evidence" for why he could be LA-bound.

Chargers fans are convinced the team will trade for Saints' Chris Olave

It's always easy to sell yourself a story as a sports fan and that is what is happening to the Chargers fans who are clamoring for Olave. As great as Olave has been, there is no reason for a trade to happen anytime soon.

As bad as the Saints may be next season, there is absolutely no reason for the team to trade Olave at this point in time. The team just hired promising offensive coach Kellen Moore as head coach, and has the luxury of utilizing Olave's fifth-year option next offseason.

Even if Olave demands a trade, there is nothing the young wideout can really do. At worst, the Saints will wait to trade him next offseason so his new team can work out an extension. At that point, the Chargers could be a legitimate suitor with the cap space to get it done.

it would take a godfather offer for the Saints to consider trading Olave, which at this rate, is a first-round pick. As promising as Olave is, it would be an awful idea to trade a first-round pick for someone who suffered multiple concussions last season and only played eight games last season.

All this being said, the Chargers may be the favorites for Olave next spring if his future is in jeopardy. Barring a surprising breakout rookie, the Chargers will still need wideout help and will have the resources to trade for Olave.

Plus, Olave will have every reason to steer the ship toward the Chargers as a lifelong fan. That is an advantage that no other team in the league has.

This is a conversation to have next offseason, not this offseason. The Chargers may be set up to make a blockbuster trade but it takes two to tango and the Saints have no reason to entertain this.
